Quality criteria for module implementations
Article sections
The quality criteria for online implementations have been created as part of the eAMK project to ensure the quality of CampusOnline.fi online studies. These criteria are also the basis for the quality of module implementations of HAMK. The quality criteria consist of 11 themes and related characteristics of quality implementation. The criteria describe how these characteristics appear during design and implementation. The quality criteria can be utilized in many ways, e.g., in the planning and developing implementation and collecting student feedback.
As part of the Digivisio 2030 programme, higher education institutions have prepared quality criteria for online learning to support the production of high-quality educational content for the continuous and flexible learning tray. The criteria have five themes: research-based, diversity, modularity, accessibility and availability.
The HAMK Learn Clear quality criteria were created during an audit carried out during the academic year 23-24. The criteria were based on the quality criteria for online learning that we already use, our university’s accessibility guidelines, and the templates we have built for the learning platform.
How to use quality criteria in the planning and development of modules?
- During the implementation planning as a checklist, where essential issues are discussed and implemented in practice.
- Evaluation of the previous implementation or just after the implementation. Based on this, you can pick out development targets for the next one.
- Come and get ideas and good practices from the quality module implementation workshop, where quality criteria are used as a tool for self- and peer-review. From the workshop, you can pick up new development ideas for your own implementation.
