Teaching planning and preparation in Peppi

The Peppi system is HAMK’s master system for planning, implementing and evaluating teaching. This means that Peppi is the source of all information related to completed credits. Information on completed credits is thus transferred to the national VIRTA data repository exclusively through Peppi. Why is this information important for every teacher? Because a large part of the university’s funding is automatically based on data going from Peppi to VIRTA.

Teaching planning proceeds at Peppi so that the Head of degree programme first makes implementations based on the curriculum or other study offerings. Once the implementations have been made and published to the teachers, the teachers will be able to make the implementation plans. When teachers, on the other hand, publish implementation plans, they are only visible to students at that stage and it is possible for students to register for implementations. The implementation plan must have enough information to enable the student to choose studies that are suitable for his or her own goals. It is best to process registrations before the start of the implementation or at the latest at the beginning of the implementation, so that there are no problems during the registration phase of the evaluation. Registration of the assessment always requires the student’s approved registration.

It is therefore very important that all students studying with HAMK implementations (including all international or domestic partners’ students studying at HAMK) are in the Peppi system as approved students for implementations. Accepting the implementation gives the student access to the implementation learning platform (Moodle) and with the approved registration, he can also provide module feedback at the end of the implementation either through the HAMK App or the website

Teaching planning and preparation in Moodle

When Peppi’s implementation plan is ready, the teachers will make a more detailed script for the implementation in Moodle and see that the implementation is ok in Moodle. The more detailed plan on implementation, assignments, materials etc. is in Moodle rather than Peppi. In the future, more and more systems will support another system like Peppi and Moodle. Then it is not enough that the data is only okay in the other system. By following the instructions provided, you will ensure that the right information has been added in the right places and the process goes smoothly from start to finish. Of course, suggestions for improvement can always be made for guidelines and processes.
