    Students can return the Kaltura video to the assignment in three different ways. Either with the online text setting via the text editor button, as a shared link to a traditional assignment or to a Kaltura Media Assignment activity. This guide presents the necessary definitions for using the different options. Student help : Kaltura video as part of a message in the Moodle discussion area or video as a task return.

    Specifying the assignment settings so that assignment return is done for assignment submit via the button in the text editor

    Let’s do a traditional task activity, where the return takes place as an online text. The Kaltura button in the text editor is used for the return, from where the student can directly import the video they have uploaded to Kaltura. The video can be private, hidden or public to restore via a button in the text editor.

    1. Go to Moodle and check implementation workspace.
    2. Turn on editing mode and select Add activity or material > Assignment
    3. Enter the exact task assignment in the task name and description field. From instructions to action Kaltura- according to the section Importing the video into the text editor. Specify the dates and select Online text. as the return format
    4. Check and configure other settings if desired. Finally, save the changes.

    Defining the video task so that the return is made using a link

    Let’s do a traditional task activity, where the return takes place as an online text. So the student produces the video and publishes it as public/hidden). After this, he returns the video link to the teacher for viewing.

    1. Go to Moodle and check implementation workspace.
    2. Turn on editing mode and select Add activity or material > Assignment
    3. Enter the exact task assignment in the task name and description field. Specify the dates and select Online text. as the return format
    4. Check and configure other settings if desired. Finally, save the changes.

    Kaltura Media Assignment activity

    The Kaltura media assignment activity accepts students’ Kaltura videos. You cannot return files or online text to the assignment. The student returns the video to the assignment by selecting it directly from their own video list.

    1. Go to Moodle and check implementation workspace.
    2. Turn on editing mode and select Add activity or material > Kaltura media assignment.
    3. Enter the exact task assignment in the task name and description field. Set dates and check other settings.
    4. Save the changes.
