You can return the learning assignments in several ways. The most general ways are submitting a file or media assignment or sharing a link as online text or sending a message to the discussion forum. On tasks related to assignment activities the submission is between the student/student group and the teacher. The forum message might be visible to all the course participants. This creates a possibility to use peer review and theme discussion.

In this section you will get to know three different assignment types.

    1. File submission (reports etc.)
    2. Online text (blog and video links etc.)
    3. Media assignment (submitting a video/audio from Kaltura)

    File submission (reports etc.)moodle assignment

In general the assignment activity includes the assignment description and the due date. When there is still time to return the assignment you can add submission directly to Moodle. It depends the settings if you are able to submit one or several files. In addition the teacher might require that you have to submit assignment officially and finally to the teacher. After this you can’t update your submission anymore.

    Submitting the assignment:

    • Open the assignment on the course.
    • Add submission and upload the file from your device.
    • Save changes and if required, submit the assignment.

Online text (blog and video links etc, embed Kaltura videos)moodle assignment

Some assignments might be so called online text assignments. If so, the student doesn’t upload any specific file instead she/he is using the online text editor. The text editor can be used to to write some short texts or in most cases copy-pasting some external link. The link could direct e.g. to a public or hidden blog or Kaltura video. You can use also Embed Kaltura Media button to share your Kaltura video directly to the teacher. By using this Kaltura button the video can be private and the button basically opens you own My media listing so you don’t have to leave Moodle course area.

    • Open the assignment on the course.
      • Write or copy & paste the link to text field
      • or use the Embed Kaltura button in order to add the content to the editor.
      • If necessary make the font adjustments etc.
      • Save changes and if required, submit the assignment.
