    • You can change the full name and short name of the course in course settings. Open the settings menu and select Edit Settings> Course Full Name. You can use the following characters in the short name: international alphabet a through z, numbers, space, hyphen and underscore.
    • By default, all new courses are hidden from students. Hidden courses are shown last in the Navigation section. The teacher unhides the course at the time he or she sees fit. Settings> Edit Settings > Course Visibility > Show. When the Moodle course is visible, students can find it with the Search function and directly with the link (format https://learn.hamk.fi/course/view.php?id=00)
    • The course start and end dates should be checked in the settings, because based on this timing, the courses will appear on the Moodle desktops of all course participants in a timely manner.
    • A more detailed description of the implementation may be entered to the description field. A picture imported to the Files related to the site field will become the course image.

There are many alternatives in HAMK Moodle for the course format. The default format is Topics, where the contents are visible all at once. Other alternatives are e.g., Grid and Onetopic (tab format). You can try out different alternatives in Settings -> Edit settings -> Course format.

    Participants

Courses that are created in Peppi will automatically assign teachers named to the right Moodle course connected with this implementation. Students assign to Moodle course after their enrolment has been accepted.

To view participants in the course, select Participants in the Navigation section.

If an enrollment key is required for some individual students, you must add and configure self-enrolment in the course area under User Management, see more detailed key instructions.
