    You can use activity tools to support both meetings and teamwork in Microsoft Teams. Polls is a handy tool for engaging participants (similar to Zoom’s polls). Microsoft Forms, on the other hand, is better suited for creating traditional surveys within a team setting. Loop is a useful collaboration tool for real-time tasks like taking shared notes and recording ideas.

    Use Polls in Teams when…

    • You want to engage participants in a specific Teams meeting.
    • You need quick feedback or to ask a question during the meeting.
    • You want to create a quick poll in a channel.

    Use Forms in Teams when…

    • You need to create an extensive survey that can be accessed outside the meeting.
    • You want to review and keep the survey results for an extended period.
    • You want to analyze the survey results in Excel.

    Use Loop components in Teams when…

    • You plan to further develop or modify the information later on.You can use Microsoft’s Forms to easily conduct quizzes and polls. In Teams, you can utilize Forms in several ways.
    • You want to edit information and response options in real-time with other participants.
    • You want to create an idea/to-do list that remains available after the meeting.

    Using Polls in a channel

    You can use Polls as part of channel discussions. When creating a new post in a channel, find Polls by clicking the “+” button in the lower left corner of the message editor.

    Using Polls in a meeting

    You can create polls as drafts before the meeting or add new polls during the meeting.

    Creating a Poll before a meeting

    You can set up a poll in advance through the Teams calendar:

    • Open the meeting details by double-clicking on the specific meeting in the Teams calendar.
    • If the Polls tab is not visible, add it by clicking the “+” button and searching for the “Polls” app.
    • Polls created in this way will be saved as drafts in the Polls tab.

    Creating a Poll during a meeting

    Polls can also be created directly during a Teams meeting. Add Polls as a meeting tab from the Apps button menu, where you will find the Polls icon. This icon will appear in the meeting bar, allowing you to create new polls and view results.

    Using Forms in a channel

    You can bring in an existing Forms survey or create a new one as part of team activities. First, navigate to the correct team and channel where you want to add the survey. Then click the “+” button at the top and search for Forms. You can:

    • Create a new shared form for the team to edit and review.
    • Add an existing form for members to respond to.

    Using Forms in a meeting

    You can share a Forms survey link in the meeting chat for participants to respond to.

    Using Loop components in a channel

    You can use Loop components as part of channel discussions. When creating a new post in a channel, find the Loop button in the lower left corner of the message editor.

    Using Loop components in a meeting

    To create a Loop component during a meeting, access the chat where you will find a button for Loop.
