Mentors in digital pedagogy

Digipeda mentors develop and research online learning and teaching know-how in the degree programmes and research units. They also support staff’s digipedagogical competence and act as digipedagogical developers in their own units.

Digital Pedagogy Mentor

The digital pedagogy mentor supports teachers and other staff in developing their digital pedagogical competencies and in their day-to-day teaching work. They participate in the systematic planning of online teaching within their unit, the implementation and monitoring of development work, and the orientation of new teachers.

The digital pedagogy mentor assesses the unit’s competence and development needs and develops teaching in collaboration with teachers. They support the selection of appropriate digital tools, highlight new pedagogical solutions, and promote the development of learning processes and tasks. In addition, they evaluate the functionality, quality, and accessibility of digital pedagogical solutions and make suggestions for improvement.

The digital pedagogy mentor identifies staff support needs and guides them toward appropriate digital pedagogical services, technologies, and experts. They participate in training and support teachers, for example, in the “High-Quality Module Implementation” training, as well as in the development of MOOC courses and the process of professional content production.

The digital pedagogy mentor continuously develops their own expertise and participates in professional networks. They actively communicate with their unit’s staff about current digital pedagogy themes and opportunities and convey information about their unit’s situation and development needs to broader networks.

Digital Support Experts

Digital Support Experts act as technical support for the staff of their units. They e.g., provide support for the use of digital tools and applications.
