With Adobe Express, you can create and edit images, infographics, presentations, short videos, web pages and social media content in a browser or mobile app. You can start from scratch or use a ready-made template. Thousands of templates, stock images and stock videos are available. Express is considerably easier to use than most other Adobe products.

In addition to standard editing tools, Adobe Express offers quick actions and a wide range of generative AI features. For example, you can remove an image background, resize content, create and edit images, generate sound effects, add captions to videos, translate the content of a presentation or infographic, or use an AI assistant to adjust a design’s layout. The available features depend on your account, subscription, language and device.

What can Adobe Express be used for?

As a teacher, you can use Express for the following purposes, for example:

• Creating illustrative learning materials, infographics or instruction cards.
• Creating a presentation or a simple web page.
• Editing, resizing and adding captions to a short instructional video.
• Adapting the same content to different publication formats (e.g. 1:1 and 16:9).
• Commenting on a shared design and restoring previous versions.
• Using brand colours, fonts and templates.

Students can use Express for the following purposes, for example:

• Demonstrating their competence through an infographic, presentation, video or web page.
• Visualising and presenting project results.
• Collaboratively editing, commenting on and sharing group work.
• Creating a portfolio or some other visual project.
• Creating versions of the content for different target audiences.

Access and login

Express works both in a web browser on your computer and via a separately downloaded app on desktop or on your mobile device. The app is available for Mac and Windows users.

Staff

Users log in to the Adobe service with their HAMK usernames (user@hamk.fi) at https://www.adobe.com/fi/express/ by selecting “Sign in” and “Continue with email” in the top right corner.

Students

Students can use Adobe software on the computers in the IT classrooms, but a separate student licence is required for home use. Adobe Express does not work with a student.hamk.fi login; instead, you will be asked to create a personal username. You must purchase the student licence yourself from the Academic Software service. The current price is €149.95 per year.

Free version with limited features

A free version of Adobe Express is also available. Learn more about the features and limitations of the free version on Adobe’s website. You can also create a free account on the same page. The free version includes Adobe Express’s basic tools and some generative AI features.

AI features

With Adobe Express’s AI features, you can create and edit content using text prompts. These features include generating and expanding images, adding or removing objects, adjusting layouts, generating text and creating sound effects. Not all features and AI models may be included in the access provided to HAMK staff.

For image generation, Adobe Express offers several generative AI models, with Adobe’s own Firefly used by default. You can change the model, but most models use AI credits. You can check your available AI credits from your profile menu. When you select an image-generation model, the application shows how many credits it will use.

Always check AI-generated content for accuracy, copyright compliance, suitability and accessibility. Do not enter confidential, sensitive or personal data into the service unless there is an approved legal basis for processing it.
