Selecting audio and video device in a meeting
You can select and connect the devices you want to use before or when you join the session, instructions: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362283-Testing-computer-or-device-audio and https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362313-Testing-your-video
webcam.
If you have joined the meeting on a browser, your audio or video devices will not be recognized at all if you use a browser other than Chrome. Join the session with the Chrome browser or, the preferred method, with the Zoom app, which you can download to your computer and mobile devices from Zoom’s Downloads page.
Problems with audio devices
- Do sound testing (Test speaker and microphone). Open the audio settings menu from the arrow button on the right side of the microphone button. The test works the same as when you join the session.

- Check the separate volume control and mechanical microphone silencing function (mute) in the lead of the microphone.
- Check that the microphone or speaker is not muted in the computer settings.
- Check the volume of the microphone and speaker in the settings “Audio Settings” of Zoom (in the session, you can open the audio settings from the arrow button on the right side of the microphone button).
- Do you see the “Join Audio” button on the bottom left of the session window instead of the “Join Audio” button? In this case, computer audio equipment is not used. To fix the situation, click on the icon and select “Join with computer audio”.
- Test if your audio/microphone works in any other program (Windows audio recorder, Skype, or whatever).
- If you have USB headphones, try swapping them for another USB port. If that doesn’t help, try headphones with anything other than a usb connector.
- If you have a laptop on your computer, try audio testing using your computer’s own speaker and microphone so that your headset is not connected to your computer.
- Restart the machine.
